Battleships were shown to be obsolete in WWII. Remember Pearl Harbor? Remember the sinking of the Bismarck with torpedoes launched from aircraft of an aircraft carrier? The sinking of the Yamamoto and Musashi? Remember the third Yamamoto class hull was converted into an Aircraft Carrier?
