I'm not sure what this species I found sprouting from what I believe to be a Douglas fir cone is. I'm not even sure about the cone ID, but based on that being the dominant conifer tree observed it's a fairly safe bet. The fungi covered cone and the Hairy Curtain Crust to the left were both placed here on this cut log. Hairy Curtain Crust, Stereum hirsutum, also called false turkey tail. The pinecone dwelling fungi have a bonnet build with light grey fuzzy stems, grey caps that fade to white along their edges and a lighter colored underside with gills.
