I’ve been thinking about this a lot as an artist trying to give my kids some cultural competency; my kids did not live through the height of AIDS, for example, and they have no context for the very moving art made of love and defiance during that period.

Obviously I can’t cover the context for every single period, but what I have been trying to teach them is to understand what they do not understand, and maybe more importantly to respect people who DO understand. Anyway AI art is part of the fascist project to strip context, STOP FUCKING HELPING
