I think there’s a similar thing here with LLM-aided coding too. Writing code is as much a form of thinking as general writing is, with different/complementary benefits, but it feels like we’re even more willing to hand that off to the machine

I tried asking the Google LLM how to turn off the Microsoft LLM and the Microsoft LLM how to turn off the Google LLM, but no dice there

I remembered there a section in the R packages book about something like this: r-pkgs.org/lifecycle.ht...
Maybe the recommendation to use lifecycle::deprecate_soft as a warning for a few versions makes sense?
