I think it’s also worth noting – because I think this is sometimes taken for granted with artists – that I worked really REALLY hard on this music. It’s rich, it’s dense, it’s layered, and it took a looooong time.

But I also think what I’m offering you is worth your time, because of that effort.

Anyway, we’re working on something to hopefully make things a little easier for small record shops willing to take a chance on our catalogue, just four records at a time! 🥹

Lil babies like us, though, have to essentially split our focus between selling our records directly to our customers, or convincing them to into their local stores to buy our wares (if they’re stocked there). It’s a real grind!

Larger distributors also offer marketing support. If you’ve ever seen a standee or window display for new records at your local shop, a distro cooked up that campaign, and those are in shops all over the country cause they wanna PUSH that record (same as all of us lol)

If you don’t know, record shops are basically constantly checking and ordering from a variety of catalogues from different distributors. Indie artists/labels either have to be big enough to have shops be checking for them, or have to drop off product for consignment.

Direct-to-consumer sales obviously yield the highest profits, but that also means we have to house boxes of records, pack each order, and constantly navigate logistics/shipping costs/tarrifs. It would be SO COOL if we could have records placed in retailers on release.
