I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

This Saturday we're resurrecting an event we took a loooong break from: Bedroom Psychedelia. We aren't against making music w/ computers, but we personally make dawless electronic music & wanted to make an event for folks Tokyo folks who need time to set up midi 🍝 Looking for acts for vol. 4 too!

We're playing as The Dhamo Suzukis! A bit more of an ambient, improvisational side to our music. Come hang w/ us & celebrate 1 year of California Bliss Dept.
A weird time to promote gigs w/ all the suffering & uncertainty, but I think in light of everything, community spaces are increasingly important! Yoga's not just what we do on the mat. Our actions, our community, our mental food, matter. Come celebrate 1 year in business w/ us!

I held off a little bit on doing a one-year anniversary party, partly out of busyness and partly because I don't like cold weather! 😅 Hopefully it'll be warm enough to enjoy the rooftop terrace. Live music and hanging out with cool folks; let's celebrate!
