Harvard will no longer have access to the SEVIS system that is controlled by the Department of Homeland Security. Universities can't host international students without access to the SEVIS system.

Current international students at Harvard need to transfer to other institutions or leave the country. Their visas are going to be valid even after this order is implemented; it is Harvard's ability to enroll them as students that is rescinded as per this order.

Among other things, the Trump administration was asking Harvard to share information about any illegal activity by international students-basically asking for pro-Palestine activities among international students. Harvard refused to share that.
