🚨BREAKING: Federal judge concludes that using copyrighted works to train generative A.I. is transformative and ultimately a fair use. (Nevertheless, Anthropic can’t beat the lawsuit because it pirated books for another purpose too.) First of kind ruling. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

Hit a wall yesterday when the Gemini 2.0 Flash experimental - suddenly stopped working on pixie.haus 😥. Spent way too long searching for changelogs... turns out the server logs held the answer: "Model not available in your region." 🤦‍♂️

Oh look, another totally ‘soulless’ art form that’s doomed to destroy creativity forever—just like photography, electric guitars, and every other ‘sloppy’ trend that magically became normal art later. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Sloppy AI: Here We Go Again…

I've implemented few things recently:

- added export settings
- adjust your export resolution (all pixel perfect)
- export in png, webp and jpeg
- trim transparent area of sprite (and add margin)
- add web or defined bg color for nice presentation like here
- bonus: new model

Let’s get one thing straight: art is sacred. In the grand scheme of technological evolution, it’s apparently okay for AI to infiltrate every other aspect of human endeavor—like programming, medical research, or even designing the perfect coffee brew.

The Matrix was the most influential movie for me as a kid—it just blew my mind when I first saw it on VHS. I watched the first 15 minutes just before school, and the whole school day, I couldn't stop thinking about Trinity's opening scene.

Recently, I’ve added custom palettes feature to my app. All integrated with @lospec.com api.

In this example few matrix inspired pixel art images.

This thread numbering makes no sense. Nonetheless, I’m pretty satisfied with my recent app updates.

Over the weekend I rolled out some updates for pixie.haus
Here’s a brief rundown:

Custom Palettes: Now you can generate sprites using any palette from lospec.com. I discovered lospec just a few days ago and fell in love instantly—so my custom palettes have become fully centered around it.

I'm building a tool for generating pixel art sprites - both still and animated. This one is first shot animation for my pfp. Prompt: "Character is looking around" - so it's not exactly what I wanted but you know how it works with Ai... You need a little bit of luck.

One rookie mistake I made building my first web app (with ~0 knowledge) was using basic validation for signup emails. Bots burned through 2500 emails on my Postmark plan, leaving me with 25% bounces and 10 spam complaints after 2 weeks—just from confirmation emails. #webdev

I'm building my first web app as a side project, relying on LLMs for coding—wouldn't be possible otherwise. Time's the key factor. I'm an entrepreneur, running a mid-sized construction company, which is, of course, time and energy-intensive. But with LLMs, such hobby projects are way more accessible

I've created my first website. Before this, I had no experience with building web apps, though I had some Python knowledge from a few robotics projects (Raspberry Pi).

Of course, I used LLMs for coding, but it's much harder than it's often portrayed. There are a lot of technical nuances.

It's me.

I like robotics, ai, surfing and oceans, tekken, gran turismo, black pen drawings, math.

I recently created my first app. It's a side project, and I've made plenty of rookie mistakes along the way. If you'd like to hear about my struggles, feel free to give me a follow.
It's my first post on bsky.

My name is Stanisław and I'm hobbyist dev. I've created my first ever app and looking for first feedback.

pixie.haus is app for generating pixel art sprites with Ai.

I would love to connect with indie devs, pixel artists and and pixel art lovers.
