I've written one short script (17 pages), but think I'll write some more options.

Just! Say! No!
Desperate to move out of her ex's apartment, a serial-monogamist applies for a dating gameshow, where to win £50,000, she has to say no to three second dates. But saying no won't be so easy...

AUTOCORRECT

When the world's first automated prison becomes a death trap overnight, two women must fight for each other and a way out.

It's ROBOCOP meets ESCAPE ROOM. Combining horror and humour for a darkly twisted take on Corporate America and AI.

If anyone has any questions about doing a table read, feel free to ask!
May 23, 2025 at 11:20 AM
Also try not to do a part yourself, you need to listening and absorbing as much as possible.

Tips for making the most of it:

- Have a paper script for yourself at least, make notes as you go
- Try not to 'read' your own script, you need to listen!
- Take note of how people are responding
- Don't stop it
- Ask people to share their thoughts at the end
- Watch/Listen to the recording later

If you do have people reading action lines, and playing a main role for the whole thing. Get them to read it in advance, or the flow will be a bit off.

Some people prefer 100% blind read, but I think that leads to stopping and starting.

If you've got some enthustatic readers/actors, put out a google form so people can pick their perferred role in advance.

I also recommend splitting up the action line reading by acts, or it's a *lot* for one person to read.

I did it with:
- Draft 4, it was looking good!
- Printed all out, it's good for notes, but having everyone read it on their phone is fine
- A bar's bookable extra room
- A lot of nerdy friends, but you can just have people do double duty on many roles

How:

You'll need
- A finished script in a strong position
- Way for everyone to read it
- A location that can fit a decent amount of people
- A lot of willing volunteers
- A way to record it
