On July 25, 1997, Larry Fisher, who rented the basement in the Cadrain family home at the time of the murder, was arrested. He was convicted of Miller's murder and given a life sentence. He died in prison on June 10, 2015. Milgaard rebuilt his life after his release.

Exonerated person here. I was enslaved at a prison farm. No one was held accountable and the state hasn't paid us for the slavery kidnapping and torture of wrongful conviction and imprisonment we endured. Yet. Abolish qualified immunity #Endimpunity

I have been trying to spread awareness of Oregon Senate Bill 1584 which was passed to compensate and provide therapy to inmates who were wrongfully convicted, or overly convicted. There are a handful of people going through the process to access the funds set aside by unanimously passed #ORSB1584

Among proven DNA wrongful convictions in the Innocence Project database, 29% involved false confessions. This is a huge problem, and it’s one that’s close to my heart. That’s why for the last year I’ve been working on a podcast series about false confessions.
