Can’t stop thinking about this moment.

That tiny lowering of the gun as he relents, understanding completely who he is, the part he played in all this and who the real enemies are. A sign of humanity that tragically comes too late.

It’s an absolute crime that we didn’t get a full week to properly digest & discuss Andor’s ‘Who Are You?’, a masterclass in suspense and tragedy.

Instead, it’s quietly dumped as one of three episodes, robbed of its impact & cultural moment.

Disney’s release schedule really screwed these guys.

Big ups to Mark Kermode for wading thru the obnoxiously loud hate campaign that clearly has little to do with the ‘sanctity’ of 1939’s Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, and cleanly divorce his review from culture war nonsense, to actually review the movie itself.

Others could learn a thing or two.

As someone who appreciated the earnestly messy sentimentalism of No Time To Die despite all its flaws, it’s bound to represent the end of a kind of artistry we’ll never see again with Bond.

Destined for the revisionism it deserves once audiences see how a stripped-for-parts commodified 007 looks.

YFNSM feels earnestly written & as socially-conscious as a synergistic capitalist brand extension can. Not a fan of the animation AT ALL & the characters are all overly polite with 0 bite, but its handling of the dual identity struggle shows promise. Kids have a new Spidey to enjoy, which is cool.

My Christmas media observation of the year is that all the stories told about kids being afraid of consumerism ruining the holiday but learning Christmas spirit trumps all, is still Capitalist propaganda. Sounds genuine but reassurance that it’s ok to keep overspending REALLY benefits shareholders.

I don't think this proves superhero movies are still as relevant as they were a few years ago. That time has passed. I think this proves that moviegoing audiences still yearn for Superman; a larger-than-life and enduring cinematic icon, yes, but more importantly, a friend.

Imagine having the balls to put this in a family animated movie today

Rewatched Minority Report & the action chase that takes Cruise into a car manufacturing facility & culminates in a fully-functioning car being assembled around him so that he can speed away looking badass is the most deliciously preposterous thing I’ve seen in a good while. Movies used to rock.

Obviously not the most immediately distressing thing but check out that rich green.

I don’t get how anything can be a bad movie but a good 'insert franchise name here' movie. If it doesn’t function well as a movie, period, all other dominos fall.
