Some perspectives are less interesting then others, and there are moments of tedium, but when it works, it really works. Randall Flagg is an A+ villain and I do not regret my time spent on this even if it did not turn out to be my favorite book by Stephen King.

If there is anything I can say about this book is that its long. That's not a bad thing; the characters are quite compelling, the loss and horror on display feel poignant and impactful - its just a book of this length means that it can uneven at times.

Reading this long after publishing I know there is more stories in this world though so I will eventually have to opportunity to see how it plays out!

Would whole-heartedly recommend this series!

Once more the humor and worldbuilding were top notch, balanced well with the darkness of the book. I can definitely see why Joe Abercrombie is well regarded. My main criticism would be there was a lot of ending without full resolution to events in the world and I wanted to see some plots finished.

Each song tries to worm its way through your body to get it up and moving with the beats. The production is as always stellar. Each song unique and different. Tyler still is weird as hell and when I was done I just wanted to go back and listen again!

Pusha T, Malice and Pharell put together an album full of unique sound where every song gives you something new. Amazing features across the album with great beats. Not a single miss. Would recommend this to anyone!

Glad I managed to see it in theatres! The big screen with a massive sound system made it an unforgettable experience! Movie deserved a better roll out!

I found the ending rather sudden and lead almost to anti-climax which I usually am not huge on, but it felt less problematic knowing I could pick up the third book right away to figure out what happens next. All and all, would recommend.

Like the first, the where's and the why's of the plot were not really the focus, it was the journey itself and the way the players bounced off each other. Despite the pain and darkness of the world the book is incredibly funny.

I read the first The First Law book some years ago, yet it took no time at all to settle back into this world. The characters were as rich as ever. The first book felt like a lot of setup for this one, so I was excited to see what kind of adventures everyone would get up to. It did not disappoint.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking for this kind of story, although I will give a content warning because it goes to some dark, vile places which are unfortunately too real in this world.

This southern gothic drama was an excellent examination of small town politics and race relationship, as well as the role the police has in both helping or exasperating issue. That, along with a good exploration of faith, as well as the actions faith push us towards make this a compelling read.

The book was well written. Easy to read. Fast paced with engaging characters and interesting questions about the consequences of information and how it can be used. Holden and Miller were both fun protagonists and enjoyed the noir cop aesthetic in a sci-fi world.

I think Area X itself was a more interesting setting, and while elaborating more of the organization behind the scenes, I was looking more for a direct continuation of where the biologist left off but the ending sets up hopefully more of what I expected from this sequel.
