A Brawl of the Wild in the semifinals for the right to be a huge favorite in the FCS Championship game against a non NDSU program is maybe more exciting to me right now than any potential playoff matchup in FBS

I love watching the videos cause the more honest of them just do their whole deal regardless of what the patient came in to see them about, but the guys who wear scrubs and lean into the doctor aspect will carefully count vertebrae and say "ah yes, the L4" and then just wrench their whole back lol

I guess the woo-woo bullshit is inherently part of the deal but I feel like a lot of chiropractors could do better business just saying "it feels good to get your back cracked" rather than "we're going to cure your migraines by adjusting your sacrum to trigger your sympathetic nervous system" or w/e

3rd Rock, Drew Carey, and Newsradio were the three sitcoms I gravitated to as a kid (and Frasier, but that’s been well-appreciated enough online as it is)

Extremely, extremely underappreciated show

Devastating Christmas songs pick at a very specific scab for me - for a few very bad years they summed up my entire mood for the season, thankfully that's no longer true, but I still dedicate a day or two every December to wallowing in Erin Gloria Ryan's "Sad Bastard Christmas" Spotify playlist

I mean you're probably right about the conference thing but they punch way above their weight in terms of how well known/liked they are nationally - there are plenty of schoools that are basically nonentities, like Boston College, Rutgers, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, etc, but Wazzu has an identity

Reminds me a lot of the way Boise St reacted to Chris Petersen leaving for the Washington job - it's always a bummer when you lose a great coach to a better job but if you carry yourself a certain way and do right by the school you were at, it doesn't always have to be acrimonious
December 6, 2025 at 4:08 AM
I get what you're saying but imo it's better to hire someone who's already taken the bigger job and gotten stung by it than an ambitious young climber who's just looking to use WSU as a stepping stone like Rogers was.

Based on what I've heard of his time in high school (ran for class president despite being utterly loathed, and used his speech to complain that he shouldn't have to pick up after himself bc that's why they pay janitors) the only thing that stopped him from being a school shooter was cowardice

I know Mizzou fans have been critical of him at times this year but Kirby Moore is from Eastern Washington, even if it might wind up being a stepping stone job for him if he does well at the very least I don’t think he’d be as mercenary about it as Jimmy Rogers was

Yeah, I think there's a decent chance the new P12 becomes the top - or at least 1A to the American - G5 conference, so if they can win that regularly they'll have a legit path to the playoff, I just hope they can find a coach with some ties to the area who won't view it as a pure stepping stone
December 6, 2025 at 2:02 AM
100% - I'm a UW fan and I've felt like shit about it since it happened. I hope they can at least find some stability in the rebuilt P12 but as much as the idea of dropping down seems inconceivable, a part of me wonders if they wouldn't be better off long term in the Big Sky
December 6, 2025 at 1:45 AM
I don't think it's quite *that* bad - they still have better facilities than most mid majors, and enough brand recognition from their good Leach years that they aren't a complete nobody, but yeah, it's not great. This is probably their fate, though, a perpetual stepping stone job, which sucks
December 6, 2025 at 1:36 AM
Larry Scott is villain number one, but imo the USC athletic department is villain number two - if the P12's one true blue blood program hadn't been mid to bad for the entire 2010s the conference wouldn't have been a much more valuable media property, and then they were the first to jump ship

idk why I this was the first thought I had, maybe it was the sing-song ending, but Big KRIT could rap this and I would unironically thing it was great. That says more about KRIT than the bar though lol

My great grandpa was a miner here in the PNW in the early 1900s. I never got to meet him but I found an interview our local university recorded with him in the '70s - from the stories he told it's no surprise he pushed my grandpa to go to college, and that my dad became a union organizer
