I’m not even the target audience here and this usually wouldn’t be my cup of tea, but like, I still enjoyed it because the best part about art is that even if YOU don’t get it, there are others who do, DEEPLY. And maybe you can learn a little something!

Actually seeing TikTok go down is so dark and ominous. This country is truly about to collapse. Just as the oligarchs have seized more power than they’ve ever had the one app they didn’t own and control was shut down by their bought and paid puppets in Congress.

It's because TikTok was a tool that allowed us to share information, build community, and organize quickly. Without it, fighting for democracy will be that much harder.

It’s just the first official act of what’s to come next. On Monday the executive orders will be released. On Tuesday the mass deportations start. And we won’t be able to communicate about it. It’s terrifying to see it unfold before our eyes.

it’s not “only getting information from social media”. it was a tool that allowed the avg person to have a voice, reach, & an impact on a level previously unfathomable. It’s all primary sources. if you think that you can get as much unbiased information from any other “formal” source, you’re blind.

That's NOT the point. The point is not once has the US Gov't told me what media I can or can't consume. People used TikTok to spread information we couldn't get in the papers. Now Meta and Musk control all the information. I guess that's ok with you though because you personally didn't like it.
