در سال های اخیر کارزار دادخواهی برای به رسمیت شناسی نسل کشی هزاره ها توسط نهادهای متعدد فرهنگی و اجتماعی در سطح جهان رهبری شده است. این کار و زار با وجود موفقیت های نسبی، کاستی هایی نیز به همراه داشته و انتقاداتی بر آن وارد شده است.
