AotearoaSam on Twitter. Slowly coming over these ways. Cheers
Bit too philosophical for my liking. Pundits might pontificate about such cycles but someone who reckons that are going to be Labour Party leader at the next election (lol) should at least give us a clue about what should be done differently.

Luxon's family vehicles, despite apparent hypocrisy, are not worth bringing up in parliament and doing so will obviously result in accusations of getting too personal. Hipkins should be extra careful given he requested and got privacy on his own family matters. Parliament sucks so much atm
Christopher Luxon speculates Chris Hipkins could soon be rolled, accuses him of bringing family into...
It was a testy affair.

Leaning into "I guess I'll have to tell Santa" when the 3 year old isn't following my instructions... it works extremely well, but is threatening your children with supernatural intervention technically child abuse? Slippery slope to telling her sinners go to hell...

Quite funny to see National banging on about the apparently poor shape the govt books were left in (despite actual indicators showing the opposite), while also steaming ahead with billions in tax cuts for landlords. How dumb do they think we are?

Infuriating to find the news is still talking about one stupid bit of graffiti that happened at a rally. Protesters are used to the media jumping on the antics of the most annoying/unproductive of our lot (usually Johnny Come Latelys) but this feels more politically biased than just sensationalist.

Chili plants still alive after two weeks away, woo. Looking better than last season's start already. Think the smaller pots mean they aren't getting too much water this time. Could be my season...

Probably controversial but I think MPs and public figures are better off not saying "from the river to the sea" because even though the assertion that all use of it is antisemitic is completely wrong (and disgusting), nevertheless it gives Juliet Moses a media platform for crocodile tears every time

Now that the election is over let me announce that Hipkins is the most disappointing leader of Labour of my lifetime and the sooner he disappears the better. He claims he plans to say on to the next election... lol... hoping my Labour Party won't let that fly or they may be flying without me!

Just to be clear, there are no emails that show the Golden Mile project to be dead, the emails just show that one councillor wants to kill it and they are prepared to deliberately mislead the public to help do that. www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3501...

Silly pet peeve here but "prime minister-elect" is not a thing in New Zealand, Luxon is just the most likely person to form a government. "Incoming prime minister" or "prime minister-designate" would be more correct (still based on assumptions, but fair ones). Bloody Americanisms

One funny thing about the coalition discussions is that although we don't know what is happening we know it's the very nature of all three parties to be scheming grifty rat bags so there's gotta be some really silly, Art of the Deal from Wish stuff going on

Lots of losers this election, especially in Labour, but I think the biggest individual loser has to be Meka Whaitiri - her new party absolutely cleaning up the Māori electorates, and she was the incumbent, yet absolutely smoked by a newcomer from the otherwise pulverised Labour Party.

If an IDF soldier beats the shit out of an Israeli citizen for protesting against the killing on Palestinian children, which one is the most antisemitic?

Excellent article. Tame is correct that the teal deal won't happen, and why, but I would have thought that given the opportunity here is to save National from Peters in exchange for some climate change 'concessions', they should at least try (and then present that to the membership to vote down).
Jack Tame: Why don't the Greens play the MMP game?
The Green Party’s stance on a coalition deal with National undervalues the potential of MMP, writes Q+A presenter Jack Tame.

Incredible that National are giving this guy permission to make some of the biggest decisions facing the country, when he has clearly and completely lost the plot.

Good to hear Labour not bothering with Port Waikato, and crack up to hear NZ First will. They could well win it with the right campaign - "vote for us and we'll literally make XYZ local interest a coalition requirement" and it would be true. Secures an extra seat while it's tight. So much fun.
