Why do wolves scent roll? 🐺

When encountering a new scent, wolves will scent roll to mark that area as their own + perhaps even bring the scent back to their family to share the discovery - it’s like bringing home a souvenir!

Plus, it looks like a lot of fun!

Our sweet Teddy got diagnosed with thymoma, cancer of the thymus gland, in July of 2023. It’s so rare only one percent of dogs get it. It was inoperable so we chose radiation. The tumor shrank but there were no guarantees. Today we were told he is still cancer free. Merry Christmas to us ❤️🐶❤️🐶❤️

Yes, yes, and yes.

Also, the world has always been on fire. Always. Sometimes it’s a little better. Sometimes it’s worse—but we solider on and do the best we can.

Find the little things that sustain you. For me that’s my family, college football, WWE, dumb memes, and a good book.

💙
Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

There’s no such thing as “too many books”—only not enough shelves, not enough time, and not enough space for the dream library with a sliding ladder. But let’s be honest… we’ll keep buying books anyway.

Had some groceries delivered. Reminded myself to grab them right away because there are bagels in there, and sometimes squirrels eat the bagels if I'm not quick. Went out there, one paper bag was labeled BREAD. Very quickly felt my brain go, "Well, jeez, don't write it on the bag."
