Someone should provide them a copy of Inclusive Mobility as a Christmas gift.

This would get you sectioned in the UK.

Someone has a grumble in the pub/social media, it makes it to the local news site as a "controversial scheme", councils get skittish and before you know it the plan to replace wands that keep getting run over with metal bollards is sunk as the driver knocking them down has has called them ableist.

Between elections locals should get involved in the local plan but councils seem reluctant to say "this is happening and we are seeking feedback, not consent". You cannot operate a council where an organised group of residents can veto every planning application – at least not without being elected.

Part of the issue is that councils are elected to implement a plan but too many councillors (and it seems officers too at times) don't have the statistical nous to understand that a consultation isn't a referendum on the proposal.

A driver might vote against them if they do anything though. Can't risk it. 40 pedestrians per year on verges and pavements is a sacrifice they're willing to make.

This is completely unhinged but what's even worse is that the visual design is an absolutely unreadable mess of rainbow spaghetti and meatballs.

Sorry you're right I looked too quickly at the map and saw the SNP at 5th in seats and my brain fell out my ears.

They don't run outside Scotland, so their vote is concentrated in fewer constituencies and this translates into seats easier.

The Right would prefer it if those whose rights are protected most by the ECHR couldn't stand up to those whose positions are protected by wealth and social standing. Labor are doing it to try and recapture the votes of those who switched to Reform.

It's in London (also not the one in Ontario).

Maybe the owners of a shop in this part of town are just too poor to pay a proper designer.

Kingston-Upon-Thames, UK. This is just outside Côte, KT1 1QN, near the Kingston Bridge over the River Thames.

Per billion miles driven the KSI rate shoots up in the elderly age groups. I can't seem to find data on just collisions though, only injury as a result of them. Do you have collision data by any chance?

There's a bunch of Ghibli films like Ponyo, My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Porco Rosso, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle that I find incredibly rewatchable. Beautifully animated, great characters, satisfying stories.

Way too narrow for a bidirectional lane.
