Per billion miles driven the KSI rate shoots up in the elderly age groups. I can't seem to find data on just collisions though, only injury as a result of them. Do you have collision data by any chance?

Alright, time to start the next phase of the job hunt. Oh. Bum.

Some days you just need to walk and walk and walk to get your baby to stay asleep.

This is on a post from a state government road safety account from about how travelling faster than 50kph around pedestrians increases the risk of them dying if a collision occurs.

Apparently pedestrians should take personal responsibility but asking drivers to is over-regulation.

She's had the book less than an hour and is already customising Tolkien's maps.

In any case this is all just another example of how the Union Flag is instantly recognisable but always has you double checking if it is in the right orientation because it's rotationally symmetric but doesn't have a mirror plane. Making it more symmetric still looks good.

Anyway here's a bingo card I made for my kid and her friend for a trip to the zoo. Could have made it with AI, decided to hand draw it so I could get a little better at penguins.

Do people cycle through the pedestrianised bit because it's the only way to get around where you're not fighting for space with motor vehicles?

Not to sound like a broken record but TikTok has really bad comment moderation. Strikes on comments that insult no one while calls for violence and outright white supremacy that I report are found to not be violations.

I get that there's scant data available on assessing the various designs but do you have any thoughts on the second stage waiting area being an ASL/layby with advance lights without being a full cyclops?

Got myself back up to the diamond league with endless review activities, and that was the goal. Now with the news of #Duolingo embracing AI to the point that they're becoming an "AI-first" company I can't continue to support them (even if it's just as an ad viewer for bonus gems/hearts).

Absolute garbage comment screening software. This is in response to someone saying that it would be good for cyclists to require insurance and registration because it would lead to fewer cyclists.

This one is underproved and the crumb is too tight to be pleasant.

Miller's Loaf from Bourke Street Bakery book, 60% hydration which feels very low for a loaf that's 15% of spelt (I was out of while wheat) and rye. Got some nice oven spring though. Perhaps I'll try the same recipe but at 70% hydration.

Particularly proud of this loaf, the first with the new starter. Starter was super bubbly after day 2 but it had to live in the fridge for a bit and then get resurrected so I've left it a few weeks before trying a first bake to make sure I wasn't trying to bake a bacteria brick.

Finally starting the Alaskan sourdough starter (from freeze dried powder) that my wife bought me a few years ago. And all starters need a name.
