Colours in the Sky is out now!!!! 🌈🌈🌈 Ever wondered what it would sound like if Vikings played Mario Kart? WONDER NO MORE!

Could not be happier with this piece, and a real baptism of fire into playing the oboe again! Thank you so much to Miles for his incredible piano playing on this!

Such a pleasure to present some of my PhD research at the KCL-UNC Graduate Music Conference! Thank you to everyone who came and listened to my talk and The Choir of King's College London and Joseph Fort's performance of 'Two Eagles and Empty Skies".

The Vice Chancellor's comments on BBC Radio 4 yesterday morning about the 'competition' between RWCMD and CU School of Music were ill-informed and simply wrong. The facilities, methodologies, learners, outcomes, opportunities and staff are different. That's okay. But they are NOT interchangeable.

Merry Christmas Eve!

As the year draws to a close, here are some songs that have been on repeat for me in 2024. This is just my opinion and I really struggled to narrow it down even to 11... They are, in no particular order:

Good Luck Babe - Chappel Roan

A travesty... A TRAVESTY I TELLS YA!

Girls5Eva was a breath of fresh air, a musical comedy that didn't seem embarrassed to be a musical.

Netflix did it so dirty by doing essentially no promotion for it when they took it on... And now one of the best comedies is done 😭

I want all young composers to know that rejection is the norm. I reckon 85% of my ideas never come to fruition because I can’t engage an orchestra, soloist, festival, commissioner, funding body etc. It’s exhausting, but keep going. Don’t give up! It’s their loss, not yours!

A pre-weekend weekend in York

Went to Jorvik, the Railway Museum, wandered round the gorgeous city, and went on a carousel. All in all, a fab time

Not pictured: an excellent pie and many cocktails
