Research shows is best to have gaze is slide angle below the camera, distance to see some mannerism, and gaze towards mid-top screen. I know sounds silly but it’s true. Helps with professionalism, and trust. Ceiling fans needless to say should not be in view. Lighting is important too

Before panic sets it. The New NIH Director and Congress will want research to continue, so the machine will start up at some point. Keep writing papers and preparing proposals. AND educate the public about the key role peer review plays in science and the time and infrastructure investment needed

In that situation if unable to locate note with the convo prior to the trach/PEG. Seeing the patient with limited information is hard. Time might be prioritized by medication changes across systems and home new needs that might dominate the time of the visit. Often need revisiting POST

This is true. When they are outside our system is complicated. Thankfully, our state has a health record data exchange platform. Not all the systems are in it, however, is better than none

Sometimes I wish I had time to visit my patients in the hospital. When I had a smaller panel I did. My panel is too big for that now. However, I might send message with recommendations to the inpatient or with additional information they might not be aware of.

The continuity of care and rapport with PCP can refer to prior conversations of values and goals prior to the hospitalization. In the different setting, we can help with different framing and perspective, modify expectation and guilt (which can be in either detection patient-caregiver).
