That’s a right wing meme/ethos and the military is coming to left wing areas where guns are largely feared. There isn’t a popular feeling that armed resistance is a thing, let alone effective. 2A–rights–infringing permit to own/carry. Universal “background check” (FFL required for trading weapons)

According to the chief of police, the SWAT teams discovered the shooter, with a gunshot wound, possibly from the first responding officer (otherwise self–inflicted). They did not “canoe” him. They tried to render aid. Because they’re not monsters. This anchor should take note.
