#14. Mario Kart World. Wowza. I’m nowhere near “done” with the game but I rolled 50cc credits just now. Rainbow Road is the best track and it’s such a good ending to the game. Love the open world. Love everything except the middle two tracks of a grand prix only having one lap.

#13. Professor Layton and the Curious Village. I still think the ludonarrative contrivances in this game is kinda bad, but my energy this time was just for a puzzle game not a mystery VN and that made it a little easier to get through. I might play more of these, I might not. We’ll see.

#12. Touch My Katamari. I like the stretching and jumping mechanics, and the level design was good, but I often felt like there wasn't enough Junk in the levels, the game was WAY too short, and the King should never again be rendered in-engine please and thank you. He needs to be a JPEG in the sky.

#11. Sherlock Holmes: Mystery of the Mummy. Continuing my Note-Taking Puzzle Game trip, I decided to start the frogwares Sherlock series, and the first one is only okay. The first two levels rule, but the 3rd sucks, and the 4th and 5th are okay, but a little "Adventure Game"y.

#10. Me and my Katamari. This is my favorite one so far, levels and gameplay and vibes wise, but 8-directional Katamari just doesn’t feel anywhere as good as analogue. I had more “why aren’t you moving!!” Moments this game than ever, but I loved the challenge levels, and the main levels, big enjoy.

#9 Return of the Obra Dinn. Holy smokes this game ruled. It got its hooks in me and I accidentally the whole time and finished it in two nights, around 9 hours. There were so many Aha moments, and I really liked that the only “puzzle” was just putting information together. Big recommend.

#8 We 💜 Katamari. Now this is what I’m talking about. A whole bunch of levels, and even the reused levels are dressed much more different than the last game. I also love the challenges here more than the constellation levels of the first one. The Royal Reverie challenges especially are hard and good

#7 Katamari Damacy. Despite hanging out with the Weirdos in PS2 times I never played this before. Now I have and it’s all clicking for me and I see what I’ve been missing. I wish there were more than 3 levels in this one but I mean that’s what 25 years of sequels are for.

#6 FF14 Stormblood (4.0). Man I wish this game was just about doma. The ala mighan portions of this expansion were super boring. The doma parts are some of the most fun I’ve had in 14, and the final primal fight was really cool even though I died hard lol. Probably my least favorite so far (Inc ARR)

This is the reason I follow @st1ka.bsky.social and @felipepepe.bsky.social because they are always truly recommending hidden gems and not just saying “have you ever heard of Earthbound?” Over and over again.
