A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

Iraq was kind of an easy case because Saddam really was a villain. Even if you opposed the invasion, you had to make sure you pointed that out.

American public opinion is malleable to be sure but I'm willing to bet that they're not "let's invade Greenland!" malleable.
