Scrolled way too far for this one

You know, I never considered whether being Pope required renunciation of other citizenship. Technically he's a sovereign supreme monarch so I guess it would, but that's also wild.

I dunno, as a (lapsed) Catholic I rather think that specifically targeting Latino congregations in the parking lot after Mass qualifies
November 16, 2025 at 1:41 PM
Let's not kid ourselves, it would definitely be pronounced One Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty-Seven

Three more cells on there that ought to be in green, chief

American is the largest airline in the country, they donate to literally everyone.

Honestly I think that most of the people who talk about The West really mean "the Carolingian Empire, plus Britain (because we're speaking English)"

"Well-made" shoes got cheaper or stayed the same as well. *Trendy* shoes got more expensive.

A pair of Doc Martens will still last your entire life and costs about six hours of the median hourly wage, which is about the same number of median work-hours they cost fifteen years ago.

Having not watched the series at all I'm going to assume that Faker pulled off at least two god-tier Unkillable Demon King absurdities that completely reversed a team fight and turned a straightforward loss into a win
November 9, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Middle half-hour is kinda interminable though

I dunno how you write around it but everything between Jabba's barge blowing up and the Battle of Endor proper feels twice as long as it actually is
November 9, 2025 at 1:38 PM
To the extent that the modern line worker (not just in America but everywhere) makes less it's because the goods he produces are less valuable than they were 50 years ago because demand is lower and competition is higher. A fridge also no longer costs a months' wages (and the fridge is far better!)
November 9, 2025 at 1:18 PM
By the mid-90s these advanced are largely complete outside of raw computational power. By the 2010s that's largely done too for any feasible consumer purpose. American manufacturing stagnates because everyone already has two cars, a fridge, a computer, a HDTV, dishwasher, etc

The Boomer economy is driven by post-WWII reconstruction via the Marshall Plan into the transistor age, which makes literally everything better and more affordable so demand is basically infinite, and then rapidly progresses into the digital era
November 9, 2025 at 1:06 PM
This was a historical abberation only possible in the post-WWII period because the US was the only nation with an industrial base that hasn't been comprehensively *blown the fuck up* and which coincided with absolutely massive technological change driving demand
November 9, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Didn't really work out that way long term because of the industrial revolution, but it's hard to blame the founders for that lack of foresight when the first Watt steam engine was sold a couple months before the Declaration of Independence.

Reading between the lines the Senate was mostly intended as a counterweight to slave states, who were much larger both in population (even after the 3/5ths rule) and land area (and so would presumably have a higher population cap later, farming yields being what they were at the time)
November 9, 2025 at 12:43 PM
As someone who works in transportation I promise you that graph is not telling the full story. Post-COVID rates for truck drivers absolutely skyrocketed between 2021-2022. Like, doubled. Owner-ops could basically name their price.
November 9, 2025 at 2:05 AM
I mean appointed US judges gave us our current Supreme Court so it's not like there aren't obvious counterexamples of the alternative outcomes also being kinda shit
November 6, 2025 at 2:30 PM
I don't think I'd call The Forever War forgotten
November 6, 2025 at 2:19 PM
I'd assumed Communist Himbo was Worf

The Ferengi are "liberal goblin family who risk their lives to do the right thing when the chips are down"

26 tons? What's it hauling, air?
November 1, 2025 at 2:39 PM
I need you to strongly consider the possibility that despite your PhD you are, in fact, incredibly stupid

I mean, the Black Legion is the preeminent chaos force, and their livery is, uh, black, regardless of a unit's Mark.

...as are Black Templars, Iron Hands, Raven Guard, and Deathwatch. But Black Legion is *spiky,* which sets them apart.
