Divisive af, but I really enjoyed the story it was trying to tell. There's a little too much pressure on the audience to fill in why Laurie was able to change so much in four years, Michael's evil radiating out and infecting others, but it tried.

Still mad that they didn't name it Halloween Returns, but overall I love this entry in the series. Love that it works as a double feature with the OG but I enjoy the overall mythos it rebooted. The whole final act is fantastic and I can rewatch anytime.

Honestly legendary movie that I always love rewatching. Technically more of a thriller than a horror movie, but the atmosphere and characters are 10/10 so I'm including it. Plus, Clarissa is THE blueprint for so many fictional women in horror.

My fav horror movie of all time as it solidified my love of horror and the slasher genre. I'll probably watch it ON Halloween (as tradition) but I've been wanting to watch it so I decided to finally skip ahead. 😂

#3 on my list of top 5 fav horror movies, I love how the majority of the terror doesn't come from the monster but the uncertainty of who has been infected by the monster.
Excellent pacing, the characters are fun, and the ending is fantastic.

2008 remake of a 2004 movie and honestly, pretty solid movie! I wanna see the original now but the remake was definitely enjoyable.
Fits in with that whole trend of American remakes of Asian horror movies when I was in high school.

My second fav horror movie of all time after the OG Halloween. I went into it the first time thinking it was going to be a standard slasher but it's SO gothic and cerebral compared to its peers. The music is fantastic and everything Tony Todd says is iconic.

Maybe not a traditional horror movie, but I really like the dread and mystery of the whole thing. The movie starts off really slow, but it's fun once it picks up.

I just love how the mom is a normal mom, reasonably believing the doll isn't alive, and then she gets a tiny bit of evidence the doll is alive and she just goes with it. Plus her fights with Chuckie are just iconic.

As a kid I was TERRIFIED of the first NoES because of Tina's death and now this movie is practically a comfort movie lol. And NoES 2 is just so gloriously gay that I needed to watch it too. 😂

I know this has been a long stream of Halloween vibes vs horror movies BUT I AM RUNNING ON FUMES and I need comfort movies. 😂

Another gay coded movie that I was obsessed with as a kid and should have been foreshadowing for the adults in my life, but ya know.

Another cheesy slasher that feels like a progenitor to I Know What You Did Last Summer. I wouldn't say the pacing is great, but it has a good chase sequence and decently developed a characters. Plus a car explodes for no reason and it's hilarious.
