For a coding assistant to do anything useful it needs a large amount of context, and processing this on every turn eats up resources, and often still doesn’t yield anything useful, so it’s done over and over again, eating up even more resources.

RFK sounds like every health and wellness influencer who is trying to sell you on some crazy new supplement or other idea that is going to to do nothing for you but will make themselves rich. So I’m supposed to trust him because he ISN’T an expert… hmmmm…

I’d join a group of conservation minded investors/donors to bid on such a sale and then just sit on it if that’s possible. No plans to ever mine it, but also block anyone else from doing it.

None, they want to keeps farmers happy and this is an easy bone they can throw them. Costs them nothing, does essentially nothing, and appeases stupid farmers who claim someone might be confused about what they are buying and not get the ‘real thing’.

If it happens it’s the best news I’ve heard all week!

Fun exercise, ask your favorite LLM to write Federalist 86 using the personas of the original Federalist writers about the current President. It was quite insightful when you take the original Federalist papers concerns and map them to today.

Sorry, should say ‘and it often screwed up, instead of ‘and I often screwed up’ though honestly that happens quite often as well.

Same here, I found I didn’t like using an LLM for the main coding, both because I find that part of the work more fun and I often screwed up as much as it helped. So now I use LLM for things like preview data, test cases, etc. and have found a balance that seems to work better for me.

Now that I have two systems, my M1 mini and a M2 Studio I’ll be able to use one for beta versions without having to be too worried. But as you say since it’s so close now I can wait just to keep from having to install more than once if they make any final tweaks from the final beta.

Only if I install the final beta, then a new build will be released. Never fails, sort of like washing your car to make it rain. 😊

I’m also guessing that Apple is getting free ChatGPT usage from OpenAI for Xcode since at this low daily rate limit it will drive subscriptions with OpenAI. So it’s really a daily free trial IMHO.

I learned the hard way that every time something was useful, commit it to a temp branch immediately because the agent is likely to hork it up on the next interaction. Progress tended to be one small step step forward, and then two back losing the forward movement unless you save it off for safety.

These people are post truth, to them everything is malleable and the ‘truth’ has to conform to their pre conceived view of the world even if it is no longer true at all.

Not sure being sedentary will ever put someone in a risk group that would deny insurance, but who knows with the bozos running things now.

Those look great, did you design them from scratch, or use any specific tools to assist? I'm trying to design icons for a project and my design skills are pretty terrible.

It would seem that it would have been easier for everyone to just approve it for everyone and not require all the crazy mental gymnastics to work through the rules otherwise. What are we worried about, or was it insurance companies pushing to reduce their exposure to pay for them?

I live where no prescription is needed, but the CVS site did have a list of conditions where I had to have at least one to qualify. I looked at the list and it listed "Phsically Inactive" which considering I didn't leave my desk yesterday I'd say was true. Problem solved.
