He comes over his own stomach, but Viktor doesn’t slow his pace. Jayce clings to him, whimpering, too far gone to even speak. Split open, whittled back down to a single organism. From the second he woke up here he’s been bereft. A wretched, lonely thing. Before that other Viktor showed him magic, he didn’t know how big the world was. Before his own Viktor put his fingers in his skull, he didn’t know what it meant to be connected. And just as the sorrow comes rushing in–that they’d been torn apart, that they’d been spit out as two things and not one–Viktor gasps and comes hard, leaning down to press his masked face into Jayce’s. Jayce takes a heady breath of Viktor–ozone and something like sweat but not quite, and an incredibly distant yet present and real hint of anise, and he’s gone. His eyes roll back into his head.

Jayce’s eyes dart downward. The thing connected to Viktor can hardly be called a dick. It’s purple. It’s leaking milky fluid, yes, but it’s also ridged. And it’s. Large. It’s a lot larger than Jayce’s dick, and he’s never been particularly insecure about his penis, but he’s also always been aware he’s more or less average.

WIP wednesday have a little bit of something
At the base of the slope, close to where it joins a gravel road. Not the herald, nor Viktor, but instead, the creature he became. The crown-like face turns to look at him. He looks so odd like this, kissed by sunlight. Like a beautiful statue, one of Piltover’s many testaments to past excellence or honor. Like that other Jayce–corpse and gravestone both at once.

An hour ago everything seemed very simple. Or, if not simple, very direct. Jayce had one goal, one single shining vision, all the other problems in his life trailing off from it like tendrils of light. Now there is a big gaping abscess in the middle of that future. He’s sitting in the cramped space of his bedroom—after he “lost” the apartment the Kirraman’s had been paying for it seemed only right to rent his own place, and however small and mold-filled said place was, it hardly mattered to Jayce. He only really slept here. But now he’s here. In the middle of the day. Because they fought. Because Viktor let slip something he didn’t mean to. Because Jayce could never let things go—he hated a question unanswered, a problem half-solved.

Jayce was having a way worse time
Jayce wakes up in a metal box. Everything hurts. Nothing hurt, a moment ago. The light was all-encompassing, and the rune was raw power between them, pulling and thrumming and overwhelming them, but it didn’t hurt. He takes a shuddering breath and chokes on it. It’s not his leg–it’s all over him. Pinpricks mix with blunt aches, he manages to roll over onto his side just in time to bring up a mouthful of metallic-tasting chunks. Breathing hurts. His chest is wrecked–it’s like the fall he took into the pit but worse, somehow. It takes him maybe minutes, maybe seconds, maybe hours until he is able to actually think. To open his eyes. It’s pitch dark. And it’s freezing cold. And he’s in a box. Metal walls all around him. And more concerningly than all of that. He’s lying under a thin sheet. But he’s also naked.

Viktor wakes up in his bedroom. His bedroom. The water stain he has known so well, for so very long is tiny. Lurking in the corner of the ceiling innocent and small. That’s not right. It grew. It stretched and the ceiling eventually sagged, and he had to wait around for the repairmen to come, and endure their pitying, awkward looks, and the whole day made him irritated and cranky and then the stain was gone. And he doesn’t live here anymore. And he is supposed to be dead. But he sits up and the Piltover sunlight is pouring into his room. This shabby little apartment that he paid too much for, for too long, just so he could walk to the university without exhausting himself. He looks down at his hands, resting limp in his lap. Flesh. Soft and pinker than it’s been for years.

“Janna. How much did you drink, anyways?” “What? I didn’t drink. We had work to do. Or. I guess I had one glass,” Jayce says, then coughs. The cough turns into a gag, and Viktor throws the towel over the spill before turning to walk back to Jayce at the sink. “One glass?” he echoes dubiously. “I think I picked up a bug or something,” Jayce says, sounding genuinely miserable. “It’s really hot in here, V.” “No it isn’t,” Viktor says, quickening his pace as he approaches the lab sink. It’s a perfectly adequate temperature. Slightly cold since the first snow has just hit, but not so much to bother Viktor particularly. Viktor reaches out and then stops as his eye catches the mess in the sink.
