Because after they convinced themselves that membership-driven voting is better than caucus selection (which is false), they have to keep dreaming up new reasons to prolong these contests for "energy" and "excitement," and "adding new people to the membership database."
I do not understand why Canadian political parties think it's a good or cool idea to go many months without a leader.

With TMX the federal Liberals basically did what Carney is promising to do—pushed a pipeline to the coast over BC and Indigenous objections. They even federally funded it, dispensing with the need for a business case.

It didn't even move the needle. Why would a second pipeline be different?

My hot take is that I think wind turbines are beautiful. Like if you’re going to tilt against windmills because they ‘ruin a landscape’ my counter argument will be “no they don’t they’re gorgeous”.
