My washer broke but luckily I had a handmade flute in my toolbag.
My hand is reaching into the space inside my washing machine, outside the drum. I have a copper flute in my hand which I'm using to depress the tab on a locking pin.

This wolf spider was being an awkward roommate a few days ago, running up and down the hall, ducking in and out between the bedrooms, bathroom and linen closet doors like a freshman in the dorms. I put it out on the patio but it moved right back in. It prefers to hang out with us.
A regular wolf spider, common in my area. It has a black and light brown striped body which looks similar to a sunflower seed in the shell, and light brown, thickish legs. It's wedged in the corner of a sliding door track

I can't get it together to choose buttons or button spacing so fuck buttonholes anyway, I'm doing snaps.

I'm trying to get better at flick knitting to improve my stranded colorwork and to have options in case of loss of function.

When I knit Continental, I wrap the yarn 2x around pointer. But seeing all the complex wraps and loops flick knitters do, I really question the supposed ergonomic simplicity.
I'm holding my needles with a project in process, set up for Continental-style knitting: the yarn is wrapped twice around my left pointer finger Now the project is set up for English flick-style knitting, as best I can: the yarn is wrapped over my pointer, under my middle, over ring, and under little.

On the kiddie ferris wheel
I'm facing the camera. I'm technically smiling but my eyebrows are knit and there's a lot of tension in my face. A younger family member is out of frame with their arm around my shoulders. Immediately behind us is the structure of a ferris wheel that we're riding. Further in the distance you can see the lights of a carnival at dusk. You can tell we're a little elevated but not very high off the ground.

I sold this, my first cloisonne piece, and I'm shipping it out this morning. I wanted to show off the back of the pendant because I think the way I attached the bail is very cute.
A round cloisonne pendant in silver, about the size is a US quarter, in the palm of my hand. The design is loosely a white and pink flower on a blue background. I'm holding a little jewelry gift box with the fluffy wadding, and the pendant is resting on it, flipped over so the back is visible. The silver bail is a twisted wire, looped twice, and the ends are hanging down across the back like ribbons on a gift

I found a little knitted dog boot in my sewing box yesterday. A prototype that had fit issues so it's all alone.
I'm holding in my palm a knitted doggie boot for a 10lb dog. The cuff is ribbed and the foot is very short and blunt. The yarn is a chunky variegated in a dark teal with berry, lime, tangerine and grape.

It's really lovely. This is vitreous enamel, which is glass. I fused fine silver to make the frame.

I made a cloisonne pendant. I hadn't done cloisonne before and I learned a lot from this. Next time I'll make my walls a little higher and be a bit more deliberate with the color placement.

I'm color swatching enamel to find a nice consistent opaque white and a clear.
I'm holding a piece of copper sheet, about 3" square. The face is divided up into 6 sections and I've applied different types of enamel to each section. 5 of them are subtle variations of white, and 1 is a clear enamel showing the clean copper color of the metal

Today at the studio I made this base for an enamel piece, and I did some color swatches
I'm holding a 20mm disc of silver with my fingertips. The disc is slightly convex and has been textured with an off-center sunburst pattern.

I handmade this rhodonite piece in fine and sterling silver for my gorgeous wife, @quacktar.bsky.social
A sort-of rectangular cabochon of rhodonite, deep cherry pink with veins of black, set in a silver frame accented by freeform flowers. The silver has been blackened and then brought back up on the high spots with fine steel wool, giving the piece a satiny finish.

I found a bunch of little cz's and synthetic sapphires so I'm going to set a pink one in the back plate
In my palm I'm holding two little plastic baggies: one labeled 3.5mm has 3 orange and 2 blue faceted sapphires, the other has ten or twelve 2.5mm stones in a mix of colors

The rectangular rhodonite cabochon is dark cherry pink with angular veins of black. It's temporarily set in a silver bezel that exaggerates its angles. I scattered a few impressionistic flowers around the sides. I'm holding it against a bench pin where I had just finished sawing around the back plate.

I have a greyish purple gemstone in a faceting jig. I've cut the pavilion and girdle (the point and the middle). The stone is held onto a dop with red wax on the right, and it's being transferred to another dop on the left with a clear epoxy.
