Suspension is not an appropriate response to most "extreme" student behaviors K-12. Suspension serves to feed the school to prison pipeline. Removing students from an environment where they are "safe", warm,and fed serves no one, especially the child. It is an exclusionary, antiquated practice.

It's breaking my heart that my ancestors & elders put themselves at risk, many even died, over decades to achieve the protections we are currently watching be dismantled within days.
My community too often suffers. Harm always comes to us 1st. We begged & were ignored. This was all avoidable.
