Yup, mine was canceled as well. Looks like Amazon had some issues. No worries, I'm still on board! Can't wait for that next book!

I just today figured out how to disable auto play on all the streaming services I use. I don't even want to watch the credits, I just don't need the anxiety of grabbing for the remote before it starts up the next episode.

My local city has a for-pay gym, but it's SO much cheaper than the other local offerings that it might as well be free. We have 3 people on the plan for ~$60/month, which also includes other city pools and even a batting cage. Love my city!

I came here to say this. Also, if I had to use ChatGPT to write it, there is no way in heck I can maintain it.

I do write them for fun and also to save time doing search and replace. Good times.

The point of a story is to connect with your audience, to make them feel something new, to explain some idea, or just evoke a particular vibe. By hewing so close to reality an author forecloses the possibilities of the fantastic.

Also, my life is too real as it is. I don't want to read about it.

There certainly seems to be a bit of snobbery about genre fiction. This is likely due to its pulp roots, as through nothing which is popular or made for kids can be "proper literature".

I do find it funny that many golden age sci-fi writers made a ton of literary allusions in their story titles.

I've always found that sci-fi stories are about our own time, just set in the future. Stories which confine themselves to the possible seem so limited.

I was burned on "literary" writing in high school. It all seemed so dull and distant. The running gag is that literature is about college professors having an affair with a student, doesn't entice.

I've been a huge sci-fi fan since the 3rd grade, though. The prose quality varies widely.
