I'm giving myself a vacation this week and I just binged on Takeru Satoh without really intending to. I watched Glass Heart before seeing he was also in one of my favorite webtoons, Marry My Husband. I didn't like the changes to the story, but I liked the show anyway.

I felt like I was hitting a wall leaning Japanese, so I've started listening to podcasts on my 5 daily walks. On half the walks I listen to a Japanese language learning podcast, which has been VERY helpful explaining things I've already learned but didn't quite understand, and new things too.

I happened to read that Hirasawa Susumu was an early influence of Yonezu Kenshi so I turned on his album 救済の技法 and it took about two songs before I realized I'd heard him before on the Paprika soundtrack which was one of my favorite anime films and I listened to it a lot. Another good connection.

Unfortunately, by LA, they were sold out of Yonezu Kenshi tour shirts and most everything else, but I got what was left. A shirt, a towel and stickers. The stickers are mostly of his art and too precious to actually put on anything so I'll just keep them on my bookshelf.

I got this cute little bell from The Boy and the Heron film, not just because it's adorable, but because it makes a pretty stylish bear bell for when I'm out walking in the woods where black bears hang out.

Kenshi Yonezu's concert was incredible, it was surreal to finally see him in person and so close. I'm heading home to Seattle today and now that it's over I feel a little empty. I don't want to return to reality.
