A corrupt system is when you need 60 Senate votes to protect voting rights, universal healthcare, reproductive rights, climate justice, lgbtq rights, immigration justice, and a living wage—but only 51 votes to strip them all away. #BigScamBill

Let's shine a gigantic spotlight on this asshole. He shouldn't be able to step out in public without being recognized and castigated.

In oral arguments, Justices Sotomayor and Kagan clearly picking up what I put down in my column: what is the logic of dealing with the issue of nationwide injunctions in a case involving such a clearly unconstitutional executive order? That is so backward.
Unlike the thorny issue of nationwide injunctions, the constitutional birthright citizenship question easy: No, Trump can't deny citizenship to people born in America to parents he doesn't like. The Court can and should just say that. Case closed, Trump loses.

Supreme Court could swiftly end Trump’s bid to strip birthright citizenship - The Boston Globe
The justices don’t yet have to decide if the executive order is unconstitutional. They should anyway.

I just attended a hearing in federal court for my constituent, Dr. Badar Khan Suri, who was detained without charges and imprisoned without due process in Texas, far from his wife and young children. He is in America legally, a postdoctoral fellow at Georgetown.

If the Supreme Court - especially THIS Supreme Court - no longer takes DHS at its word, corporate media probably shouldn’t either. Just sayin.

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism.

If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone.

Americans of conscience must stand against this now.
