I like the clutter. Most of my game is just a pile of post-it notes that I figure out how to string together into a fun story

As a GM I use a post-it note. On it jot down a goal, a flaw, and a short vague description. I mull that over while working on the rest of my session prep. Sometimes they get more details others not. Then often I flesh them out off the cuff as I use them in game. I keep unused ones for later use
