! Chuck @schumer.senate.gov asks unanimous consent that the Senate immediately read and pass the bill to release the Epstein files, un-amended, "as soon as it comes over from the House." No objections. Motion succeeds. Bill is deemed to the Senate unanimously, will go to Trump to become law.

The prospects of extending ACA funds in anything resembling their current form are diminishing by the day. Here is President Trump trashing the idea this morning and implying he’ll only accept a new concept.

(Funds expire at the end of this year; sharp premium hikes expected.)

John Barrasso sounds like a NO on extending ACA funds: “We cannot continue just continuing to subsidize a failing plan, which is causing more & more costs and hardship around the country. What the Democrats have offered was $350 billion more dollars to prop up Obamacare, which has failed”
November 16, 2025 at 7:10 PM
Republican Sen. John Barrasso, the majority whip, doesn’t commit to holding a Senate vote on the bill to release the Epstein files if it passes the House. “We’ll have a discussion about it and make a decision from there.”

MTG responds to Trump, saying he’s lying about her: “he’s coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote to release the Epstein files.”

“I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump.”

Now that the government has reopened, when will workers get paid?

The law requires agencies to fully pay furloughed and excepted workers immediately: “at the earliest date possible after the lapse in appropriations ends, regardless of scheduled pay dates.”

Rep. Adelita Grijalva has officially signed the discharge petition to force a vote on the Massie-Khanna bill to release the Epstein files. That's 218, meaning House GOP leaders cannot block it from the floor. (That's 214 Dems + Massie, MTG, Mace, Boebert.)

"Congratulations, you're now a member of the United States Congress."

Rep. Adelita Grijalva, who was elected on Sept. 23, is sworn in today, Nov. 12.

Bullish sign for House prospects of passing the CR+minibus today. The occasionally (but less and less) rebellious Freedom Caucus is skipping the threats/complaints and getting straight to yes. Here are some internal talking points the group is circulating, sent over by a source.

An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

Stefany Shaheen, running for Congress in NH01, opposes the Senate deal her mother Jeanne negotiated to end the shutdown, saying it doesn’t resolve the ACA cliff: “Too many people will see health care costs that are already too high skyrocket even further starting in January.”

🚨 The Senate just reached a deal to end the government shutdown, voting 60-40 to advance it. Here’s what is in the deal, what Democrats gave up, who voted for it and what comes next in the path to turning it into a law.

With a “WOW!,” President Trump posts a claim about DOGE and “royalties linked to Obamacare” that originated on a satirical website. That site’s own About section reads: “Everything on this website is fiction… If you believe that it is real, you should have your head examined.”
