I didn’t hold it against the narrator as it’s the same in the book, but yes hadn’t connected he is British so would have been unnatural / annoying for him I imagine

Should have been “have to say” not “have to save” but sounds like you got the gist. I’m definitely going to listen to the next one

I did the same - someone else had just started and it was one of those books on my TBR pile I never got round to. I move between the audiobook and kindle and have to save the narration on the audiobook was excellent - really brought it to life for me. Hope you enjoy

Took me a while and almost lost it but enjoyed the recommendation from here “Tainted Cup” last week (enough to buy the sequel). I’ve moved over to “William” by Mason Coile. This months book subscription from Mr B’s - so far so good at building an unsettling premise

I think it came in my book subscription and to be fair they don’t usually pick bad books for me…ok decision made - I’ll go for that next

For some reason that never gets off my TBR pile - enjoy and looking forward to hearing about (I must have bought it for a reason)

About 1 hour off finishing “A voice in the night” by Simon Mason. Book 4 (I think) of an enjoyable crime / police procedural with good characters. Lacking motivation about what to start next so will see what others have

Sorry 133 not 132 - the kind of detail that matters

On the last chapters of “The Zorg” by Siddharth Kara. Incredibly readable historical account of how 132 men, women and children were murdered aboard a slave ship. Reads like a courtroom thriller Doesn’t preach, educates in an easy to consume tale - my book of the year so far

I like Stephen King…that one I didn’t get on with but he does different stuff and I enjoyed reading it even if I didn’t like the story so much

I think the cover has it right - it’s a book to be read on dark nights and it really does haunt you…

I think I need to re-read to purge the awful tv adaptation they did a year (maybe 2) from my brain

Been an age since I read this - but was an excellent read and I usually pick up his books (and those by his alter egos). Never a bad book

Good morning. Finished “The Long Shoe” by Bob Mortimer and heartily recommend (if you like Bob Mortimer). On a book subscription choice now - “The Ressurectionist” by A Rae Dunlap - medical grave robbing skullduggery in 1820’s Edinburgh - full of evocative period character so far

Really enjoyed this one, it was odd stepping away from the East India Company with him but the characters established so fast it was great to read
