If someone ever told you Source Engine is held together by ducttape, they weren't lying. In L4D2, most maps have a script that contains an array of DirectorOptions - basically a script that modifies the game's AI Director behaviour, what it should do, what shouldn't etc.

I have a love-hate relationship with VScript. On one hand, it's so much more convenient and better than Hammer's IO system. On the other hand, almost no tutorials on more advanced concepts, lacking documentation and terrible debugging experience my god.

Feelin like a caveman, banging two rocks together, as I'm forced to use Squirell scripting language in VSCode WITHOUT any typo highlighters, any IntelliSense, holding the documentation in my other hand like a bigass phonebook and no working debugger other than assaulting the code with million prints
