For survivors, the decision to leave is rarely simple. It’s often complicated by financial dependence, fear of retaliation, housing instability, and the emotional bonds of a relationship. True support means understanding these barriers and providing resources without judgement.

We joined survivors, advocates, and allies on the steps of City Hall to demand the passage of Int 1216. This bill requires the Office to End Gender-Based Violence to create and distribute multilingual posters about potential signs of GBV and resources for survivors to beauty salons across NYC.
