Me: I'm surprised they don't tell undergrads or parents about this [the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program].

Mom: Psst. They don't tell BLACK people about this!

Yesterday, my therapist encouraged me to refrain from saying, "It's OK. It's OK." to "I'm OK." Because this. This is NOT OK.

We can't normalize the madness. The attack on our personhood, humanity, civil rights, values, etc.

Continue to resist and find joy. ❤️

Really enjoying the PBS Great Migration series airing right now. Several things hit me during tonight's episode on the Reverse Great Migration.

1. The importance of returning to what may feel like an ancestral land that shaped our culture, how we worshiped, our food, etc.

Soooo, did an adult in your house pull out your baby teeth or did they let them fall out naturally?

Was it traumatizing having them yanked out?

If you're a parent now, did u do it to your kids?

Or, do you plan to once u become a parent?

Realizing not everyone knows novacane & string.

This also reminds me of how someone shared their guess for why college students disrespect BIPOC professors,

"That's probably the first time they've seen a POC, let alone a Black person, in a position of power."

Ouch.

My mom *loooooves* to re-watch movies. When asked why, she said,

"You all are spoiled. Growing up, I didn't have many movies with Black actors."

I vehemently disagree with folks dressing as "nerds" put on glasses - an everyday necessity for some.

Don't be rude.

People who belittle others for knowing they've reached a limit in a circular conversation really tick me off.

Stop thinking there are winners & losers in a conversation. This isn't a graded debate. Be happy folks can recognize the limits of time and walk away from a conversation, perhaps, for now.
