This is why NPRs funding was cut actually sharing the news. The official Parks Service release on mentions him as a Free Mason. No mention of the Confederacy, his anti-immigration, anti-Catholic, nor racist stances

Confederate statue toppled during Black Lives Matter protests will be reinstalled
The statue of Albert Pike, a Confederate general and Freemason leader, was vandalized and taken down on Juneteenth in 2020. It is the only statue of a Confederate general in Washington, D.C.

This will not only lead to poorer outcomes overall, but increased ED visits, higher health care costs for ALL OF US, and is just inhumane and against the oaths we took.
Huge concern as a Physician at a Federally Qualified Health Center about today's HHS announcement stating the undocumented individuals would no longer be able to receive care at FQHCs and Head Start. We are required to and often the only source of care in the community for these individuals.

I practice in Albany, NY a city without fluoridated water. I prescribe such supplements on a regular basis because dental care is lacking, especially for Medicaid patients. Now we're trying to remove all methods of prevention? Oral health is health care. This is public health.

Yup, our new Surgeon General.
Didn't complete residency and not licensed in any state to practice medicine. The irony is that she would never be able to treat anyone for the illnesses she's ultimately promoting.

I won’t share RFK Jr.’s lies about autism.

It’s disgusting and dangerous.

If he had a shred of decency, he would apologize and resign.

Autistic people contribute every day to our nation’s greatness.

To every kid with autism, I’m in this fight all the way for you.

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.

When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

Susan Crawford's supporters are knocking on doors in their own neighborhoods—like the terrific folks of the Teal Team on Madison's West Side.

Let's keep knocking till the polls close on April 1!

The only medicine for measles is the MMR vaccination.

A good read and sums up the evidence nicely against Vitamin A claims in a developed country like the US
My new piece for Slate is on vitamin A, measles, and why supplements are no replacement for vaccines (and may have little/no benefit for measles in most places these days)

Yes, RFK Jr., Some Studies Suggest That Vitamin A Protects Against Measles. But There’s a Major Catch That Parents Need to Know.
No, nutrition is not better than vaccination.

I work at an FQHC and most of my career so far has been at health centers. These actions consequences and people are going to go without care. Especially in states that limit access to Medicaid and in rural areas, health centers are critical to health care. www.vpm.org/news/2025-02...

A very bad thing, on so many levels:

Data

Money
Individual health
Population level disease spread
This is a public health nightmare in the works.

Nobody voted for this.
