Child survival rose 75% in the last 50 years. Vaccines account for 40% of that. Vaccination against measles represents 60% of the benefit.

RFK is going on the news and telling people “it would be better if everyone got measles.” He is dangerously ignorant.

100 years on, it's essential to think about our unfortunate past, which saw Benito Mussolini, even in parliament, defend violence, assume his desire to be a dictator, invent fascism and then become one, with terrible consequences for the whole of humanity.

I had a chance to interview Carter once in 2016. He told me he hoped that the last guinea worm would die before he did.
Sadly that is not how things have played out. There have been 7 cases reported this year so far (in Chad and South Sudan).
Still, he has helped make
huge progress!

The preliminary sequence from the H5N1 human case in British Columbia has been posted and it is not good news. The virus potentially has a quasispecies at HA residue 226 (H3 numbering). This is bad news because we know that mutations at residue 226 can increase binding to human receptors. 1/

Scientists just figured out how many chemicals enter our bodies from food packaging
More than 3,000 chemicals from food packaging have infiltrated our bodies, a new study has found.
