Imagine reading a history text in 100 years and getting to the part where a Nobel Peace Prize laureate gives her medal to the man who just did a military strike on her country.

Shit's fucked.

Started reading Warhammer 40k novels because I find the grimdark future less disconcerting than the grimdark present.

Watching this upload of game 3 of the 1993 NBA ECF, and a few things stand out:
a) the first 3-peat Bulls team really is the Jordan/Pippen show
b) that said, Rodman is probably less of an upgrade over Grant than I remember
c) the '93 Knicks were actually kinda loaded.

This man is going to get written about like Neville Chamberlain.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

The pitch for this is bananas. It's just a Blackberry. It's not a 'Blackberry for your phone.' It's a second phone for when you don't want to be distracted by all the stuff distracting you on your regular phone.

So... you can have some self control, or uninstall some shit apps, or spend $500.

I've been reading old Savage Sword of Conan and Red Sonja comics lately, and this panel made me laugh.

Lampshading Red Sonja's chain mail bikini has long been a thing, but my brother in Crom, you're only wearing a loincloth. She has on more (and better) armour than you!

Wow...always be skeptical with these things but if this stuff checks out, Dahlia and Zodiac could be solved. Especially if the drawing described actually exists (and the Times claims to have seen it).
An amateur codebreaker may have just solved the Black Dahlia and Zodiac killings
Two retired LAPD homicide detectives say that both notorious cases are solved -- with a single culprit -- thanks to the work of a novice sleuth.

I think Jamie Smith's wicket seals it, but it is extremely sports that this test match—in which Australia have been clearly better from day 1—is also somehow also the closest one.

This is actually an either/or thing. The CBC can either use AI or keep my trust in its reporting. You have options. You don't have to clearly label AI-generated things. You can just not use them!

I dunno man, the big November patch (KB5068861) touts a bunch of AI features, but the most obvious impact I see is dropping AC Shadows from stable 60 fps to stable 45 fps.

I don't care about your fucking chatbot, I just want to play some games.

A reader kindly and gently reminded me that I had somehow forgotten Etobicoke-Lakeshore, which also took much more than its share. Mea maxima culpa. I would note that this makes the point even stronger. Four of Toronto’s 25 wards took a stunning 95.5pc of the city’s growth from census 2016 to 2021
This will not be news to regular readers, but it's worth noting whenever Toronto council debates housing (or transportation or neighbourhood amenities) that just three of the 25 wards absorbed three-quarters of the city's population growth between 2016 and 2021
