Our new work lead by Anuphon. Cryo Structure of CARD1 reveals copper in the ecodomain, required for sensing H202. The phenotype of card1 is same as rbohd, suggesting ROS produced by RBOHD is sensed by CARD1.

BGH2 is a paralog of BPG4, which we reported as a chloroplast homeostasis factor last year in Nature Communications (Tachibana et al. 2024).

Interestingly, in contrast to light-inducible BPG4, BGH2 is dark-inducible and acts as an etioplast homeostasis factor!!
