実は最後に「ここでは左翼ポピュリズムについてほとんど何も述べていない…私が焦点を当てたのは、ポピュリズムそれ自体ではなく、「常識保守主義」の台頭だ」とあって,要するにポピュリズム概念自体に著者はあまり関心がなくて自分の枠組を宣伝したいだけ,ということだろう.
