I'm fixing up some of the older face tracking blendshapes on my avatar, and it's such a joy doing facial animation again.

Here's MouthPressLeft before and after today's touch-ups.

It's a subtle expression but the little details like curling the lips around the fangs bring it to life for me.

I finally plugged the Blender back in and got back to work on the lad. I think I'm satisfied at last with his face. It feels very "me".

Todays' updates.

- Changes to the eyes to make them more draconic.

- A slight narrowing of the muzzle horizontally and vertically.

- Shrunk the fangs and conformed the lips more nicely.

- Chin reshape.

- Fixed the blink to accommodate the new eye shape.

Small tweaks today. Increased the iris size to make it look more "creature"-like and slapped on some face noodles with the laziest of hacked-together UV maps and placement.

I'm doing lots of little edits that look sloppy now because I can then do a big fit, finish, and optimization pass all in one.

He lives! No major issues. Everything looks and moves and feels great!

I'm not done by a long shot, but this is easily the best job I've done of managing my time and priorities during a project to get to testable and usable milestones instead of getting lost in perfecting minor details.

I'm finally back in Blender. First off, a quick, dirty, and lazy fix for the "bald spot" at the front of the head by pulling out vertices similarly to the existing spikes.

Before and after picture in Resonite of my previous stable version to the current one. Most of the changes are subtle and took far more time than their appearance might suggest, but I've laid the groundwork to finally run with a lot of big ideas I've had.

This is only the beginning.

Shoutout to @tajtiger.me for teaching me how to transfer vectors for normal maps from a smoothed model to my fluffy one to make my fur look MUCH softer.
