I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.

That's not what the workers call it though. They have another couple of words they prefer to use: union busting.

Had an urge to play a Doom 2 WAD & decided to check out Abscission by Snaxalotl after seeing a lot of recommendations for it.

10 maps in & am loving it so far. The optional MP3 music pack for the WAD really adds to the spooky, moody atmosphere constructed here.

So, I played through Episode 3 of "Ultimate Doom In Name Only"

Far more of a mixed bag than the first two episodes. The maps all looked gorgeous, but gameplay design choices in some maps (mostly E3M5, E3M6 & E3M8) really disagree with me.

Network test success. Slowly lifting the GZDoom netcode curse. Ongoing behind the scenes netcode improvements, and improved it has. 6 players across the world, no connection troubles (OGs remember the struggle), SMOOTH prediction (feels like playing single player), no jitter/rubberbanding. #GZDoom

Oh also go play "Theme-gawad" it's good fun!

I've also recently gotten back into classic Doom wads, been playing through "Ultimate Doom In Name Only", a project where mappers were tasked with completely redesigning Doom 1's original maps to much more accurately resemble their namesake.

The reveal trailer did not fill me with confidence, it looked as if it was taking more inspiration from the 2008 360/PS3 game (which I only played the demo & that conviced me to not buy the full game) as apposed to the Iguana originals.

Biggest pleasant surprise for me was absolutely the announcement of an Okami sequel directed by Hideki Kamiya, which reminds me I should revisit Okami one of these days, it's probably been almost 20 years since I last played it.
