This kind of defensiveness really isn’t it. If your record on Palestine spoke for itself, you wouldn’t need to post this.

I think we could all afford to give each other more grace on the left, but the lack of integrity in journalism isn't going to get any better if we don't unite against it.

for Palestine has lagged behind some of your progressive colleagues, so a
"no" amendment vote for removing $500 million from Israel defense funding (presented at face value) isn't unrealistic.

speaks far more to a lack of journalistic integrity than it does to a media literacy issue concentrated within the left.
Also, although you don't accept AIPAC money, with a possible Senate or presidential run in the future, and given the deference required of the Jewish electorate, your advocacy

I say this as someone who's supported you for years and deeply values your voice in Congress: I think this speaks to a much-needed conversation about how hard it is for the American public to extrapolate the truth from the nebulous legislative process. I have a degree in government and used to

The Resolution also requires that Congress be notified within 48 hours of any military action. Given that only a few Republican congressional leaders were allegedly briefed in advance, and the rest of Congress found out online, this still violates the War Powers Resolution.

Under the War Powers Resolution of 1973, the president can act militarily in only three cases:
1️⃣ In direct self-defense (this wasn’t)
2️⃣ In response to imminent threat (this wasn’t)
3️⃣ With congressional approval (this wasn’t)

And just as it has shaped how Israel is taught, so too has it shaped how Palestine is erased. I encourage you to watch this video and learn the truth about Israel’s origin. m.youtube.com/watch?v=OCGt...

Since 1951, AIPAC—originally called the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs (AZCPA)—and its partner organizations have influenced what Americans learn about Israel—how it’s spoken about in the news and how it’s taught in schools.
