I was about 15 when the idea of an independent Scotland started to resonate with me. But it really clarified for me when I became a mum, 36 years ago. Independence is essential for the future of Scotland. We've been pillaged and mocked and subjugated for far too long.

Scotland has no steel industry or Scottish-based exporting industry and no stock markets. We will have no petrochemical fuel production and GB Energy will control our electricity supply. We have no influence in UK government decisions. That's not a country, that's a colony.
