#24. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance (Fun little romp, can be completed in 10-12 hours. The time from starting the game to doing cool ninja stuff is short, and I think the difficulty curve over the stages is great. Don't know that this will win awards or crack top 10s, but worth trying. Evocative art.)

#23. Pokemon Legends: Z-A (This is basically the Pokemon game everyone spiritually wants, but the execution is slightly off. Battles resemble the anime and I like most of the Mega designs. This is basically fetch quest: the game though and a lot of the moment-to-moment stuff feels strangely empty.)
a pokemon game is being played in a city street
Alt: The three starter Pokemon of Pokemon Legends Z-A Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile, cheer on a main street in Lumoise City, where the game takes place.

#22. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (Y'know what's a really good video game? MGS3. This is the world's most unnecessary remaster, especially since the Master Collection exists, but makes this classic approachable with a new control scheme and some minor QOL improvements.)

Had to google what the IP sitch is with Killer 7, and remembered that was a venture with Capcom. Big Hmmmmmm on that one

Maybe this is something you'll get to on a pod, but I feel this way about a lot of superhero media post-Iron Man 1: it's like one good beat and then we keep forcing the joke past the first premise. The superhero quips that actually hit? For me it is only Spider-Men Peter and Miles.

I'm sitting here with a 3070 from a prebuilt from 3-4 years ago and a mix of other upgraded parts I invested in, and was contemplating an upgrade but have already been priced out of anything else. Feels like you'll need to win the lottery or be sponsored to get an updated PC anytime soon.

Like a lot of other gaming parents, we took a hardline against Roblox when the child labor stuff was reported, and while we try not to judge other's parenting, it is pretty disappointing to see other parents be permissive considering how toxic it is. Insane how it is culturally pervasive!!!

It shows on the recent Remap and other streams you've been on! My wife and I still quote "...and she got feet?!" on a regular basis. You are a gift to the community. GOATed

Geometry Wars with a perk system is such a good idea and I'm surprised this isn't being talked about more. Thanks Grubb!

Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao was great for me in this vein from this year. Cerebral, but plot moves briskly and a fun page-turner. Read it on a road trip and was perfect for that

#21. Vanquish
(Platinum was really cooking with this one. A perfect aperitif and short third-person shooter that's somehow a shmup. They should make more games where you skid around on your knees and punch and shoot robots.)

#20. Absolum
(A great beat-em-up following the footsteps of Streets of Rage 4. Great art. Fun roguelike structure. Some very broken builds. Character design and world is inspired. Two players make it easy to get to penultimate bosses.)

It's such a bummer that they are the stewards of some of the most popular RPG franchises of all time and also the company responsible for "Tokyo RPG Factory" and "Creative Business Unit III".

Also relevant: extremely funny that the guy who begged the govt for a bailout for Silicon Valley Bank says no to a bailout for AI companies.

Praying for this bubble to burst already so we can move on from this insidious tech.
David Sacks says there will be "no federal bailout for AI", as the US has at least five major AI companies and "if one fails, others will take its place" (Ashley Capoot/CNBC)

Popped off a bit in a meeting about it (lol) and was met with "well, the Drs I talk to are literally using it now; we don't want to fall behind." If my doctor or my kids' doctor started replacing their expertise with AI just because "the future", I would go find somebody else to be my provider!
